Why ‘Klou’?
(And how on earth do you pronounce it…?) ‘Klou’ is the Afrikaans word for claw – and since the business owners were originally South African (although they now say they’re English – no comment) – it just seemed to make sense. (It rhymes with ‘plough’, for anyone who was wondering!)

Frankly, if we can’t stand behind it for at least three years, it really doesn’t deserve the ‘Klou’ name!

Founded originally in 1999 by the Sellars family, Cutters (our parent machinery company) got into attachments in about 2010. With sales growing, we realised our attachment division needed its own identity – and the Klou brand was launched back in 2014.
Still 100% owned by the original founders, we continue to grow from strength to strength.
